Yes and No.
I know many people like definitive statements, but that is the business of SEO and search engines, we never know for sure. Â In the past PR was used by many to measure a site’s worth. Â I remember long hours of link building using only PR to order the priority links I wanted to buy or trade for. Â Despite all the chatter of link builders still using PR to determine a site’s worth, many of us have tacitly concluded that PR may be on its waning days.
The signs of this are not the fact that Google recently had a lower PR than Facebook, but because I have seen that value is much more determined by other factors.
The following factors should be used to determine a site’s worth regardless of the PR:
- Multiple Backlink URL Roots
- Higher Trend in Referral Traffic
- Good Content
- Nice Site Architecture
- Low Bounce Rate
- Age
